I personally thus far prefer the Wikispaces. I feel it is more user friendly than the google site. I also like the fact that you can create the pages faster and easier than with google sites I had a couple of small glitches when I first created my page however I quickly overcame them and have had no major problems.
My likes include less time to build a wikipage and the ease with working in the pages. Additionally, I enjoy the way I can quickly edit the pages to make any changes I desire after I have created the page.
Dislikes include the small number of choices for the wiki along with the lack of color choices. I prefer to stay away from pastel colors and would like to see a larger selection of colors to choose from. Additionally, I believe the layout choices should be increased to allow choices based on the grade level the teacher might be working with. Many smaller children might enjoy a style such as a school or playground layout.
I would use the wikin in my teaching to allow the students to work on projects together in addition to doing research. They could use the wikipages to build various projects or comment on each others research papers and add comments or suggestions during the preparation. I believe that by using wikipages, the students might take a greater interest in working on projects or research. When conducting research, they could pastet the websites they plan to use and which would allow their classmates to view the websites and make comments or suggestions on how they feel the refernce material may or may not be relevant to their report.
